OM99 Millikan Oil Drop Apparatus
The OM99 Millikan oil-drop experiment apparatus upgrades the traditional instrument using modern optoelectronic technologies such as a CCD television microscope and an electronic reticle. Experimenters can perform precise, convenient, and intuitive measurements of oil droplet descent on a monitor. The experimental process allows for simultaneous viewing by multiple people, facilitating instructor guidance and interaction.
Description
The Millikan Oil Drop Apparatus has an average relative error of less than 2%, which is excellent for student laboratories. The parallel plate spacing is 5.00 mm, with an accuracy of ±0.01 mm. The plate voltage ranges from 0 to 680 V DC, with selectable positive, zero, and negative settings, and switchable polarity. The balance voltage ranges from 0 to 350 V DC. The lifting voltage is automatic and is set to 140% to 160% of the balance voltage. The buttons are designed to withstand more than one million operations.
Easy to Read and Use
The balancing voltage of the oil droplet, its falling time, and the readings from the electronic reticle are all centrally displayed on the screen, making it convenient for students to complete the experiment using either the static method or the dynamic method. The introduction of the electronic reticle also enables the OM99 to support two extended experiments (which require additional optional accessories): the observation of Brownian motion and the experiment of changing the charge of the oil droplet using a mercury lamp.
Stable for Long Periods
The apparatus can keep oil drops stable for more than one hour and can track a charged droplet for over two hours. LED illumination ensures that the droplets appear bright and clear. A 15-inch color monitor displays the observation results. This instrument is one of our most popular products.
