Solenoid Magnetic Field Measuring Instrument
The LB-SM Solenoid Magnetic Field Measuring Instrument helps students understand the Hall effect. It also teaches how the SS495A integrated Hall sensor works. Students learn the principle of magnetic field generation by a solenoid. They use a teslameter made from the SS495A Hall sensor to measure the magnetic field distribution of a long straight solenoid. Then they draw the curve of magnetic field intensity B versus measurement position x.
Description
The LB-SM Solenoid Magnetic Field Measuring Instrument helps students understand the Hall effect. It also teaches how the SS495A integrated Hall sensor works. Students learn the principle of magnetic field generation by a solenoid. They use a teslameter made from the SS495A Hall sensor to measure the magnetic field distribution of a long straight solenoid. Then they draw the curve of magnetic field intensity B versus measurement position x. The operating voltage for the integrated Hall sensor is 5 to 10V. Its working current is 7mA. The sensitivity of this sensor is 3.125mV/G. The temperature coefficient of sensitivity is 0.02% per degree. Theproduct includes a constant current source for the excitation coil. This current source ranges from 0 to 0.8A. The adjustment step is less than 1mA. The stability is better than 10⁻⁵. A 3.5-digit LED display shows the current value.

High Resolution and No Remanence Error
The magnetic field measurement resolution is 0.1mT. The instrument has two ranges: 20mT and 200mT. Both use a 3.5-digit LED display. This instrument uses a solenoid instead of an electromagnet to create the magnetic field. This design avoids the remanence problem. Remanence can cause accuracy errors in traditional electromagnets. The solenoid has 3250 turns. Its inner diameter is 25mm. The length is 260mm. A long measuring rod is provided. It can reach deep inside the solenoid. This allows you to map the complete magnetic field distribution inside the solenoid. The measuring rod is 300mm long. It has a scale with 1mm divisions. You can estimate readings to 0.1mm. The LB-SM Solenoid Magnetic Field Measuring Instrument gives very precise and stable magnetic field data.
Simple Operation for Physics Labs
All components are built into one box. The box size is 440mm × 225mm × 145mm. The LB-SM Solenoid Magnetic Field Measuring Instrument is easy to use in undergraduate physics labs. Students can directly see how the magnetic field changes along the solenoid axis. The constant current source is stable and easy to adjust. The Hall sensor gives a linear output. This makes data collection simple and reliable. The instrument provides a clear hands-on understanding of magnetic field measurement principles.
